Common Issues and Causes
If you're having trouble connecting your HOVERAir flying camera to the Hover X1 APP on your phone, you might be experiencing one of these common issues:
- Connection Failure or "Unable to Join Network"
- This could be due to WiFi issues on either your phone or the HOVERAir flying camera, or even compatibility problems between your phone's version and the Hover X1 APP.
- Successful Connection but No Communication
- This often happens when you can connect to the WiFi but can't access Smart Preview, access the Hover album, or upload device log. It might be due to environmental interference or specific phone settings.
- Android-Specific Issues
- Some Android devices might show that the HOVERAir flying camera's WiFi is "disabled".
Troubleshooting Steps
For Android Users
1. Connection Failure
1.1 Check Your Phone's WiFi List
- Please make sure your phone can detect the WiFi network whose name starts with "Hover"
- Possible Reasons:
- The WiFi signal emitted by your HOVERAir flying camera may be on the 5G band, but your phone or the local WiFi only supports the 2.4G band. We recommend trying to connect with another device to confirm the status of your phone. If the issue persists, please contact support@hoverair.com and provide your local address information so that we can verify it.
- If no other Phone can find the WiFi, the HOVERAir flying camera might be malfunctioning. Consider sending it in for a check.
1.2 Restart Everything
- Turn off and restart both your HOVERAir flying camera and your phone.
- Forget the current WiFi network on your phone and reconnect
1.3 Try Connecting Manually
- Instead of using Hover X1 APP, manually connect to the WiFi network using the password: WZYIKfMy.
1.4 Check for Password Issues
- If you can connect using the password, it might be a compatibility issue with your phone's version. Update your Hover X1 APP to the latest version to fix known bugs.
1.5 Voice Control Users
- If you're in the voice control beta and your Bluetooth works but WiFi doesn't, update your HOVERAir flying camera and the Hover X1 APP to the latest version. This should fix the issue.
2. Connected but No Communication
2.1 Confirm the WiFi Network
- Please make sure your phone can detect the WiFi network whose name starts with "Hover"
2.2 Restart and Reconnect
- Restart both your phone and the HOVERAir flying camera, then reconnect.
2.3 Disable Mobile Data
- Please ensure that your mobile phone does not have the "Smart Network Switch" or "Smart WiFi" function enabled. This is because the WiFi of HOVERAir does not connect to the Internet. Some mobile phones will detect this, disconnect the WiFi channel, and switch to mobile data, which will prevent the device's videos and photos from being transferred to your mobile phone via HOVER's WiFi.
2.4 Disable Dual-WLAN Acceleration
- Some phones (like OPPO or Xiaomi) have this feature enabled, which can interfere. Go to:
- Settings -> WLAN -> WLAN Assistant -> Dual-WLAN Acceleration (exact path may vary).
2.5 Set a Static IP
- After connecting to the HOVERAir flying camera's WiFi, set a static IP on your phone:
- Go to WLAN settings.
- Click on the connected WiFi.
- Choose "Static" IP settings.
For iOS Users

- If you can connect manually, it might be a compatibility issue. Update your Hover X1 APP to the latest version and upload logs for further analysis.

2.2 Restart and Reconnect
- Restart both devices and try again.
2.3 Set a Static IP
- After connecting to the HOVERAir flying camera's WiFi, set a static IP on your phone:

Final Tips
- Check for Interference: Sometimes, other WiFi networks or electronic devices can interfere. Try moving to a different location.
- Update Everything: Ensure your phone's OS, the Hover X1 APP, and your HOVER firmware are all up to date.
- Clear Cache: On some devices, clearing the cache can resolve connectivity issues.
- Album Permission: When the Hover APP requests access to your system album, please make sure to grant full access permission. Granting only partial access rights may result in videos or photos not being saved successfully.
- Video preview: If you encounter issues such as abnormally fast playback speed, choppy stuttering frames, or only around 4 seconds of playable footage while previewing videos in the Hover Album within the Hover APP, this is normal. The preview function is only designed for a quick glance at general video content. To watch the full video, please tap on the corresponding video file.
