What is CoPilot?
CoPilot is an innovative feature launched on May 30, 2025. It offers a new level of flexibility in X1 PRO|PROMAX’s flight control. With CoPilot, you can manually adjust the camera's position during intelligent tracking, allowing you to direct the camera exactly how you want it while maintaining focus on your subject. This feature is perfect for those moments when you need more control over your shots without needing expert flying skills. Learn more about CoPilot here.
Quick Tips for CoPilot Future
- Remember, you'll need to manually activate CoPilot for each flight mode you wish to use it with. Once on, it stays active until you switch it off.
-
CoPilot is designed to work seamlessly with all automated flight modes. Here‘s how it works:In follow modes (like Cycling Mode, Dolly Track, etc.): When you're cruising in follow modes like Cycling or Dolly Track, and you want to take a detour, just hit the direction button on your app or Beacon. Your flying camera will smoothly shift to the new path you've set, keeping the focus right on you. And the best part? Once you're done and release the button, it'll effortlessly glide back to its original follow trajectory. It's like having a personal camera crew that knows exactly what you want!
State Recovery on AQUA: If you adjust left/right or forward/backward during a follow mode, the aircraft returns to the horizontal follow origin after you release the button. Altitude adjustments are retained — the aircraft maintains the new altitude and continues following.
In non-follow modes (like Zoom Out, Orbit, etc.): When you take control of the direction during your flight using the app or Beacon, your flying camera will switch to Hover mode. Once in Hover mode, you can manually adjust the angle freely based on your current target point, ensuring that the recognized faces in the frame stay centered. This gives you greater creative freedom to capture those unique and memorable shots with ease and precision. Enjoy the flexibility and let your creativity soar!
State Recovery on AQUA: The same logic applies — altitude adjustments are kept, while horizontal position adjustments are recovered to the following origin once the aircraft re-locks onto the target. All modes that require tracking a person before takeoff detect the user's head, not their face, at takeoff. Once the switching conditions are met after takeoff, the device will switch to tracking the user's body.
